Saved filters

Filters allow you to view specific subsets of your top-priority patient events to mirror your care coordination workflows. Most importantly, filters allow you to set up real-time email and text alerts on these subsets of events. You can apply filters to customize your view in real-time, or you can create saved filters both to turn on email and text notifications, and to access that subset of patient events every time you log in.

In this article:

Saved Filters: Overview

All saved filters you create will appear on the left panel of your Bamboo Health dashboard. The saved filters you create will be specific to your account and won’t appear on your colleagues’ dashboards.

You can filter your data with a number of filterable criteria, as outlined below:

  • CURRENT STATUS
  • FACILITY NAME
  • FACILITY TYPE
  • SETTING
  • DIAGNOSES
  • ADMITTED FROM
  • DISCHARGED TO
  • CURRENTLY BILLING
  • EVENT DATE
  • VISIT DURATION
  • BAMBOO HEALTH FLAGS
  • LATEST PING RESOLUTION STATUS
  • PROGRAM
  • PRACTICE
  • PROVIDER
  • CARE COORDINATOR
  • GENDER
  • AGE
  • CITY
  • ZIP CODE

Create a Saved Filter

1
Click on Set Up Filters and Notifications
2
Choose the filter criteria for your top-priority patient events

Tip: When it comes to creating your saved filters, less is more. The less criteria that you select, the more notifications you are likely to receive. We suggest starting with filter criteria under current status, current floor / unity, setting, Bamboo Health flags, and programs.
3
Click Create
4
Name your saved filter and click  Save

5

Your new filter will now be listed under my saved filters!

Note: you will automatically be prompted to turn on email and/or SMS notifications for your saved filters each time you create a new one. Turning on push notifications to alert you in real time of your top-priority patient events is one of the top best practices we recommend for all members of our user community.

Preset Filters

Bamboo Health designed preset filters so you can more easily manage the patient populations most pertinent to your facility/organization. The preset filters were built as follows:

  • All patients: includes all patients who have an active care relationship with your facility
  • Currently admitted: includes patients who have an active admission with your facility

These filters are additive! For example, if you want to see all patients who are currently admitted to your facility and are attributed to a specific program, select currently admitted, scroll down and expand the program filter header, and select the program of interest from that list. Using multiple filter criteria will allow you to get as narrow, or as broad, a patient list as you need.

Preset filters are tailored to take into account only your patient's most recent event at your facility/organization, whereas saved filters only consider your patient's most recent event within the Bamboo Health community, which may be outside of our facility/organization and can always be found on the patient's card.

Manage Your Saved Filter:

The gear to the right of each saved filter you create provides options for easily managing your filter settings. Upon clicking the gear, you will see the following dropdown menu options:

  • Edit Filter Criteria: allows you to make changes to your filter criteria
  • Export Filter Results: allows you to export those patient events that match to your saved filter criteria. This will pull only those patient events that match to your saved filter criteria at the time you run the export.
  • Set Filter As Default View: ensures that you automatically are brought to this filtered view, including new patient events that match the criteria you’ve selected, each time you log in
  • Rename Filter: allows you to edit your saved filter name
  • Delete Filter: deletes your saved filter

Export Data

To export the data from an applied filter, click on the gear to the right of your saved filter and select Export Filter Results. Note, this will pull only those patient events that match to your saved filter criteria at the time you run the export. For more information on exports, check out our reporting best practices.
